Activities of the Commercial Wing

Mr. Md. Aminul Islam, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy met Mr. Wei You Lin, Vice Secretary General, CCPIT, Guangdong Sub-Council on 24 February 2006. They discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral interest, including a possible visit to Bangladesh by a business delegation from Guangzhou and holding an investment seminar on Bangladesh at Guangzhou. Mr. Wei assured of necessary cooperation in uploading business information on Bangladesh on the website of CCPIT, Guangdong Sub-council.

During his visit to Guangzhou, the Commercial Counsellor visited the factory of Topfame Furniture Co. Ltd. at Dongguan City of Dongcheng District. The company has shown interest in setting up an export oriented joint venture in Bangladesh. 

Mr. Mu Chen Sheng, Section Chief of Foreign Trade Department of Xingtai Bureau of Commerce, Hebei Province, along with two other officials, called on the Commercial Counsellor on 22 February 2005. They expressed their interest in exploring the possibility of creating a market in Bangladesh for their quality glass products in collaboration with a local partner. Eventually, they looked forward to setting up an export -oriented joint venture in Bangladesh for manufacturing state-of-the-art glass products. The concerned Chinese company is already importing their products to countries like South Korea, Viet Nam, The Philippines, Myanmar, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
