Confucius Institute Offers Course in Dhaka

The Confucius Institute at the North South University in Dhaka has lauched a one-year course in Chinese language from 25 February 2006. The beginners’ course comprising two six-monthly segments would be conducted by Prof. Zhang Gaoxiang of Yunnan University of China. The course aims at enabling the students to communicate in Chinese through acquisition of the basic language skills. The course is also expected to prepare grounds for students to appear at HSK test (Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language) and thus secure admission in Chinese educational institutions. With growing trade and investment relations between the two countries, there is a felt need in Bangladesh to learn the Chinese language to effectively conduct business with China and other South East Asian countries.
