China Offers Education Assistance to Bangladesh

The Government of China will donate basic education materials worth RMB Yuan 1,000,000.00 for primary and junior secondary schools in Bangladesh. The donation is the consequence of an Agreement reached between the two Governments regarding assistance for Bangladeshi schools. In a letter addressed to his Bangladesh counterpart, Mr. Tian Xiaogang, Secretary General of the National Commission of the People’s Republic of China for UNESCO communicated the list of the donation items that includes projectors, projection screen and digital cameras.

The Hon’ble Minister for Education of Bangladesh Dr. M. Osman Farruk thanked his Chinese counterpart for the assistance during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Sixth E-9 Ministerial Review Meeting on Education for All held in Monterrey, Mexico on 13 – 15 February 2006.
