In Nov. 1979, Bangladesh and China signed cultural cooperation agreement between the two governments. After that, the bilateral exchanges on culture and education have grown steadily. At the beginning of 1995, a cultural delegation organized and led by Chinese Government visited Bangladesh , signing the plans for cultural exchanges for 1995, 1996 and 1997.In 1997, a cultural delegation by Bangladesh Government visited China . And also in 1999, the two governments signed another cultural exchanges agreement for two years ahead. In 2001 and 2002, Bangladesh cultural delegations came to China in 2001 and 2002 respectively for “Meeting in Beijing ”, and the 5 th Asia Cultural Festival. In Jan.2002, during the state of the then Chinese Prime Minister to Bangladesh , a cultural exchanges plan covering the period from 2001 to 2003 was signed, and a children acrobatic group of Chongqing city went to Bangladesh for giving performances.

Starting from 1976, the two countries began sending students for study in each other's country. And in 1986, Beijing First Primary School was renamed the China-Bangladesh Friendship School .
