The tropical cyclone SIDR hit the southwestern coastal areas of Bangladesh causing widespread damage to lives, properties, infrastructure and forestry. The Government of Bangladesh has launched an all-out relief and rehabilitation effort to provide succour to the affected people and to help them rebuild/ return to their homes. The Government is being supported by development partners, domestic and international relief agencies, voluntary organizations and cross-section of people as well as expatriate Bangladeshis.
Individuals or organizations desiring to make donations for the flood victims may send their contributions directly to the Chief Advisor¡¯s Relief Fund in the following account and address:Chief Advisor¡¯s Relief and Welfare Fund

Any of the following procedures can be followed to send the donations to the above- mentioned address:
The donations in the form of cash/cheque as well as relief materials may directly be sent to the above address by the donors under intimation to this Embassy; or
Cheque/ bank draft/ money order in favour of Chief Advisor¡¯s Relief and Welfare Fund may be sent through the Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing to the above address. Bangladesh Embassy will send the cheque/ bank draft/ money order to the Chief Advisor¡¯s relief fund. However, it may take around 10 ¨C 15 days for the cheques/ bank drafts/ money orders to reach their destination.
Alternatively, cash amounts may be handed over to the Embassy or cheque issued in the name of the ¡°Embassy of Bangladesh¡±, specifying that that donation is meant for cyclone victims. The Embassy would issue a receipt against the cash/ cheque received and forward the consolidated amounts to the designated fund.
